"Cloud Field" is a newly completed public art installation featuring seven sculptures, set to be permanently displayed along a soon-to-be-completed bike path in Wichita, Kansas. This artwork honors Wichita’s nickname, "Air Capital of the World," by offering cyclists the thrill of a pilot soaring through the clouds. The intricate papercut designs within each cloud, created collaboratively by artist Sijia Chen and the Wichita community, respond to the city’s diverse culture and community spirit, symbolizing its rich history and vibrant future. "Cloud Field" not only celebrates Wichita's aviation heritage but also serves as a testament to the community's unity and creativity. This installation encourages viewers to immerse themselves in the dynamic interplay between art and the public space, sparking imagination and a spirit of exploration.
